Electric Bicycle Safety Advocacy
According to the management of vehicles on campus, only electric power-auxiliary bicycle may be admitted for entrance to the campus of the university. All kinds of electric motorcycle and electric bicycle are forbidden in driving through the campuses of the university.
What’s the difference among pedal-powered bicycle, electric power-auxiliary bicycle and electric bicycle?
According to Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act, Article 69, slow-moving vehicles are classified and defined as follows:
(1) Pedal-powered bicycle
(2) Electric power-auxiliary bicycle: a type approved two-wheeled vehicle that is powered mainly by human exercise and with electric assistance with a maximum speed of 25 km/hr or less and weighs 40 kg or less.
(3) Electric bicycle: a two-wheeled vehicle that is powered mainly by electricity, with a maximum speed of 25 km/hr or less, and weighs 40 kg without a battery or 60kg including a battery.
